Implant Supported Bridge

If multiple tooth replacement is needed and you do not want a partial denture, then a bridge which is held in and supported by implants may be a good option. This bridge is permanent or non-removable.

The implant is placed in the upper or lower jaw by a quick painless procedure lasting between 30 minutes to an hour. Very little post-op pain is expected. Usually only a little soreness is experienced. If there is not enough existing bone in the implant area then bone can be added and grown to accommodate the implant. A 4-6 month healing period is then necessary to allow for the bone to 'fuse' to the implant surface. After the healing period the crowns may be attached and the bridges cemented. If finances are limited, the more economic option may be to have dentures held in by implants.
